Monazite stability, composition and geochronology as tracers of Paleoproterozoic events at the eastern margin of the East European Craton (Taratash complex, Middle Urals)

► Chemically distinct monazite domains reflect magmatic and tectonometamorphic events. ► Dating of a Paleoproterozoic shear zone in the Urals yields 2052-2066 Ma. ► The U-Pb system is not entirely reset during dissolution-reprecipitation of monazite. ► A Ca-rich aqueous fluid dissolved monazite and mobilized Th and REE.
