Quantification and spatial distribution of dose rate relevant elements in silex used for luminescence dating

► LA-ICP-MS measurements of K, U and Th along with another 21 elements are presented for 22 silex samples. ► Pure silex mostly contains few radionuclides, veins/inclusions show strongly increased radiation. ► Element abundance analyses allowed identification of impurities phases.
