Seismic signature of the mantle transition zone beneath eastern Tibet and Sichuan Basin

► The 410 and 660 interfaces beneath east Tibet are investigated. ► Both interfaces beneath LMS are depressed. ► The depressions are from a sinking dry mantle flow. ► The sinking flow is from eastward asthenosphere resisted by Yangtze Craton.
