L'évaluation psychiatrique pour la pose d'un neurostimulateur médullaire

In the treatment of chronic neuropathic pain, the insertion of a spinal cord neurostimulator is possible. The conditions of reimbursement are defined according to different criteria. One of them is to include a psychiatrist or a neuropsychiatrist in the multi-disciplinary team, which organizes the therapeutic plan. To do so, a psychiatric assessment has to be organized. We suggest a framework for this evaluation, in which we define the pieces of information to collect and the possible contraindications. These contraindications concern patient's understanding of the intervention, his expectations, his psychic stability, his contact with reality and finally his ability to follow postoperative rules.
