Nutraceuticals: Facts and fiction

Nutraceuticals are pharmaceutical forms containing food phytochemicals as active principles. Scientific research supports the biological activity of many of these food phytochemicals, but the health claims attributed to the marketed nutraceuticals have often doubtful scientific foundation.
