Structural and spectroscopic studies on concentration dependent Er3+ doped boro-tellurite glasses

► The absorption spectral studies reveal the ionic nature of the title glasses. ► JO parameters follow the trend as Ω2>Ω4>Ω6 and the higher Ω2 value confirm the higher asymmetry. ► Higher Ω4/Ω6, σPE and βR values for the 4S3/2→4I15/2 transition suggests for green laser applications. ► Variation in the optical band gap and Urbach energy values are due to the increase in Er2O3 content.
