Bénéfice de l'utilisation d'un programme de stimulation cognitive sur tablettes tactiles chez des personnes âgées dépendantes et institutionnalisées : programme KODRO

Cognitive stimulation is an interesting alternative therapy that has been proposed to the elderly for some thirty years. The development of touch tablets may be an innovative way to improve this care plan, but it requires proof. We retrospectively studied the effects of the KODRO cognitive stimulation program using touch tablets over a period of 12 months among 11 residents suffering from moderate cognitive impairment, hospitalised in a long-term care facility. We present the first results concerning the benefits of weekly sessions on improvement of cognitive performance in the fields of language and visuo-spatial or attentional skills, and on the evolution of psycho-behavioral profiles assessed, at the end of each session. Finally, we discuss the limitations and the openings offered by this type of intervention.
