Presence, concentration and trends of metals: A baseline study of blacktail (Diplodus sargus capensis) and hottentot (Pachymetopon blochii) along the South African coastline

- Most metals (n = 8) was significantly higher in blacktail than Hottentot.
- 13 and 1 blacktail fish exceeded the MALs for arsenic and mercury respectively.
- Correlations between fish weight and metals were species and metal specific.
