Persistent and high-level expression of human liver prolidase in vivo in mice using adenovirus

► Using adenovirus, high-level expression of human liver prolidase was accomplished. ► High-level expression of the enzyme lasted up to 15 days in mice. ► Mouse liver contained the highest levels of human liver prolidase. ► Human liver prolidase hydrolyzed diisopropylfluorophosphate in vitro. ► In vivo, overexpression of the enzyme offered modest protection against DFP.
