Influence of strong monsoon winds on the water quality around a marine cage-culture zone in a shallow and semi-enclosed bay in Taiwan

► This study investigated the influences of marine cage culture and monsoonal disturbances on the surrounding water quality. ► Strong NE monsoon may have extended the spread of effluents without necessarily flushing them outside the embayment. ► Resuspension caused by the strong NE monsoon may influence the water quality across the embayment. ► Impacts of marine cage culture also in response to seasonal movements of water driven by local climatic occurrences.
