Petroleum hydrocarbon contamination in Nelson Lagoon, Alaska, sampling three different matrices

► PAH levels were low in all three sampling matrices in Nelson Lagoon, Alaska. ► Blue mussels sampled a broader diversity of PAHs than did sediments or SPMDs. ► Sampling media type was the most important determinant of PAH signature. ► Benzo(a)pyrene levels in Nelson Lagoon were similar to industrial Alaskan harbors.
