The new potential invader Linopherus canariensis (Polychaeta: Amphinomidae) in a Mediterranean coastal lake: Colonization dynamics and morphological remarks

► Alien mid-Atlantic polychaete Linopherus introduced in the Mediterranean Sea. ► Higher densities into an artificial substratum than the natural bottom. ► High immigration rate of 3.7 ind L−1 d−1 and 5.8 mg L−1 d−1 from the sandy substratum. ► Micro-deposit feeding behaviour and positive response to organic matter. ► Architomy with anterior (2%), mid (<1%), and posterior (1%) regenerating lineages.
