The influences of various anthropogenic sources of deterioration on meiobenthos (Ostracoda) over the last 100Â years in Suo-Nada in the Seto Inland Sea, southwest Japan

► Ostracodes, TOC and TN contents in a core from semi-enclosed sea were examined. ► Ostracodes changed at the late stage of Japanese post-war economic miracle. ► TOC and TN contents increased rapidly during the 1970s owing to eutrophication. ► Ostracodes are useful indicators of environmental deterioration in eastern Asia.
