Pore water transport of enterococci out of beach sediments

► Ten percent of total bacteria within sand columns were released in flow experiments. ► Majority of the bacteria were released within the first pore water volume. ► Positive linear correlation seen with bacteria removed and hydraulic conductivity. ► We hypothesize that results were dependent on amount of biofilms in sand. ► Results significantly higher in cores collected after a significant rain event.
