Ecological significance of alkaline phosphatase activity and phosphatase-hydrolyzed phosphorus in the northern part of Gamak Bay, Korea

► We investigated the ecological significance of APase and APHP in Gamak Bay, Korea. ► Relationship between DIP and APase activity are highly correlated. ► APase activity may have been induced by phytoplanktons. ► APHP may play an important role in species competition of DIP-limiting area.
