Monitoring persistent organic pollutants in leatherback turtles (Dermochelys coriacea) confirms maternal transfer

► We measured organohalogen contaminants in blubber and fat from dead leatherbacks. ► We also assessed blood and eggs from nesting turtles in Florida, USA. ► Concentrations were significantly and positively correlated between fat and blubber. ► Egg concentrations were significantly and positively correlated with female blood. ► We confirm maternal transfer of compounds from nesting turtles to their eggs.
