Accumulation of butyltin compounds in cetaceans from Korean coastal waters

► We report concentrations and accumulation patterns of BTs in Korean cetaceans. ► DBT was predominant in the livers of minke whales and common dolphins. ► Significant differences in BT concentrations between the two species were found. ► The BT accumulation in minke whales was correlated with increased body length. ► The concentrations of BTs exceeded the threshold value for cytotoxic effects.
