Simultaneous detection of Pathogenic Vibrio species using multiplex real-time PCR

► We developed a molecular method for the detection of pathogenic vibrio species. ► A set of specific primer pairs was employed in the multiplex RTi-PCR assay. ► Lower detection level was less than ten genome copies per reaction. ► Our optimized method was shown to achieve theoretical maximum sensitivity.
