Effects of high pressure argon and xenon mixed treatment on wound healing and resistance against the growth of Escherichia coli or Saccharomyces cerevisiae in fresh-cut apples and pineapples

► Fresh-cut apples and pineapples were treated by high pressure argon and xenon mix. ► Effects of the treatments on wound healing of the fresh-cut fruits were investigated. ► Effects of the treatments on wound-induced resistance to infection were investigated. ► The treatments promoted the wound-healing responses in the fresh-cut fruits. ► The treatments enhanced the wound-induced resistance to Escherichia coli or Saccharomyces cerevisiae.
