U-Pb SHRIMP-RG zircon ages and Nd signature of lower Paleozoic rifting-related magmatism in the Variscan basement of the Eastern Pyrenees

► Crystallization ages and εNd values determined from Núria and Guilleries massifs. ► U-Pb SHRIMP zircon ages of Pre-Variscan orthogneisses range from 488 to 451 Ma. ► Detrital zircon ages in a metapelite host range from Neoproterozoic to Neoarchean. ► εNd of orthogneisses, between − 2.1 and − 5.2 at 450 Ma, record Panafrican arc crust. ► Crustal level of Ordovician melting is not exposed in eastern Pyrenees.
