The generation of voluminous S-type granites in the Moldanubian unit, Bohemian Massif, by rapid isothermal exhumation of the metapelitic middle crust

►The S-type granites in the Moldanubian unit formed during rapid exhumation of the hot metapelitic crust. ►Monazite geochronology shows that the exhumation took place at 329-327 Ma at a rate of 6-7 mm per year. ►The granite magma then ascended faster than its host and intruded the cold part of the same complex.
