Minor element geochemistry of groundwater from an area with prevailing saline groundwater in Chikhwawa, lower Shire valley (Malawi)

► Geochemistry of minor elements in groundwater with high salinity was studied. ► Pb, B, Cr and Sr increase proportionally with salinity. ► Cerussite and barite solubility exert control on Pb and Ba, respectively. ► Boron is associated with brackish groundwater and high Na+/Ca2+ ratios.
