High resolution Lateglacial and early-Holocene summer air temperature records from Scotland inferred from chironomid assemblages

► Lateglacial chironomid-inferred summer air temperatures for two Scottish sites. ► Lateglacial temperature trends are broadly consistent between both sites and NGRIP. ► Local and regional forcing causes between-site differences in climate trends. ► If radiocarbon dating is impossible chronology can be developed based on tephra alone.
