High level expression of human enteropeptidase light chain in Pichia pastoris

► Human enteropeptidase light chain was expressed in P. pastoris in secreted form. ► High cell density cultivation of P. pastoris led to 60-70 mg/L of active enzyme. ► AAC promoter permormed on par with GAP promoter and outperformed AOX1 promoter. ► The promoter activity is not the limiting factor in case of the rhEP expression. ► The activity of immobilized rhEP probably depends on the sorbent surface area.
