Treatment of synthetic soil washing solutions containing phenanthrene and cyclodextrin by electro-oxidation. Influence of anode materials on toxicity removal and biodegradability enhancement

- Electrochemical treatments of highly loaded solution (initial COD of 11,150 mg L−1).
- Oxidation way with Pt and DSA anodes, mineralization way with BDD anode.
- An optimum value of biodegradability is observed in each kind of treatment.
- Biological post-treatment is possible for each treatment (at BOD5/COD > 33%).
- Use of BDD anode in electro-Fenton gives higher performance even in energy consumption.
