Ensemble estimates reveal a complex hydroclimatic sensitivity of pine growth at Carpathian cliff sites

► 515 Scots pine ring width samples were collected at three Carpathian cliff sites. ► An ensemble approach of 3240 growth-climate interactions was applied. ► Hydroclimatic sensitivity of pine growth revealed spatiotemporal inconsistency. ► Orographic-induced climatology mainly impacted growth-climate sensitivity.
