A low cost preparation of VO2 thin films with improved thermochromic properties from a solution-based process

► Vanadium dioxide thermochromic film was prepared via a solution-based deposition. ► Tungsten doping reduced the phase transition temperature to 37 °C. ► Tungsten doping narrowed the transmittance hysteresis loop. ► Our results will propel the application to vanadium dioxide-based smart windows.
