Electroluminescent properties of yellow light-emitting electrochemical cells based on a cationic iridium complex and the effect of ionic liquids incorporation in an active layer

► Cationic iridium complex was synthesized and characterized. ► Light-emitting electrochemical cells (LECs) were fabricated based on this complex. ► Three ionic liquids were added to light-emitting layer of the devices. ► LECs based on this complex resulted in high luminance at low voltage.
