Differential exosomal microRNA profile in the serum of a patient with depression

Depression-specific miRNAs may modulate neurotrophin signaling, chromatin/histone modification, immune system function, inflammation, depression, apoptosis, hypoxia, and cell growth. Identifying the networks that may be regulated by these depression-specific miRNAs and their target genes may provide a novel, high-throughput screening platform for the early detection of depression as well as determining its severity and response to treatment.
