Low back pain is very common and can lead to severe incapacity if untreated. After a brief reminder of the diagnosis process, we present a synthesis of a literature review of major tools and techniques in physical and rehabilitation medicine. Techniques, appliances, indications, side effects and contraindications are described. Evidence-based proof is scarce and low because randomised-controlled trials are difficult to produce. However, there is strong evidence for functional restoration programs in the treatment of low-back pain.
