Douleurs induites par les soins : analyse de l'évolution des données d'une enquête annuelle de prévalence de la douleur

For the last five years, we have conducted an annual one-day pain prevalence survey among our elderly patients. In this article, we endeavour to analyze the time course of various pain variables as a function of healthcare interventions. We studied the pain caused by daily nursing care (washing, transfer, preparations), wound care, and rehabilitation. For each intervention, we noted prevalence of pain, its intensity, use of premedication or not, and prevalence of pain as a function of the number of caregivers participating in the intervention. The results revealed favorable or unfavorable trends for each type of care, providing insight into the underlying causes.
