During the treatment of patients, mainly female and teenagers who had performed behaviors of self-mutilations, we were led to question us on the significance of these acts. We raised, in several cases, the major place of transgeneration pathology. However, this one does not result so much, as it is generally the case of an unvoiced comment or existence of a family secrecy but well more of a trial, the attack of the body of an ancestor, who could not be symbolized. If the self-mutilation has a sense, it does not constitute therefore, except when it is ritualized, a language. We detail a privileged observation, that of Maria. We confront our assumptions with the data of the literature.
