Entre savoir et incertitude, circulation de la parole : interdisciplinarité en soins palliatifs pédiatriques

In this article, the author intends to question the position of the professionals involved in palliative care in order to discuss interdisciplinarity in paediatric palliative care, by focusing on: 1) the plurality of expertise facing a symptom of the end of life; 2) the contribution and place of a paediatric palliative care team in the reflection with other teams of care providers; 3) and from there, verbal exchanges would be possible and would always provide a space full of presence and meaning. If “interdisciplinarity is the consideration of different knowledge, by trying to articulate them towards a common goal” according to Depaulis et al. (Working together, a challenge for the medical-social domains, 2013), the following are required: sufficient knowledge and certainty to be considered expert in palliative care; sufficient uncertainty and lack of knowledge to be open to the views of others, because we need them to work with different specialties in complex and often long path. Sufficient knowledge and sufficient uncertainty… This is not a well-balanced mix but a living and complex interaction that will meet many obstacles.
