L'empathie : rencontrer l'autre fait souffrir

Our society has promulgated the right to not suffer pain, a right that, as we can learn from empathy, goes against the complexity of the phenomenon of pain. Brain imaging has demonstrated that the emphatic relationship favors pain, whether the recipient suffers pain or not. This is a reality well known to families. It also applies to the healthcare community where relationships with the patient necessarily involve a certain degree of suffering.
