Edgar Morin theoretical approach to complexity is helpful in better understanding the elements constituting these complex situations and apprehending a method enabling both scientific rigor and flexibility when taking into account the highly technical aspects of intensive care situations and the inherent human dimension of end-of-life situations. The role of the mobile palliative care team is discussed, using the terms expressed by the participants, as well the question of an outside partner for these complex situations. Based on an analysis of different observations, proposals can be put forward for both the intensive care team and the mobile palliative care team.
