Thus, neurosteroids appear as good candidates for the prevention and/or the treatment of Alzheimer's disease. If the supplementation with neurosteroids, particularly in well-defined galenic forms, can be considered, the stimulation of their endogenous production by modulating specific pathways of neurosteroidogenesis represents a novel and promising strategy for neuroprotection and restoration of memory deficits.
