Un adolescent avec un TDA/H et un problème de colère superposé

The case of a 15 year-old adolescent with an ADHD diagnosis over the last 8 years is presented. The current treatment is aimed at helping him confront his excessive anger, which he has manifested over the previous 2 years. A brief review of the literature underlines the lack of knowledge in the domain of anger disorders, and this despite frequent comorbidity with ADHD. Affect regulation in the prefrontal cortex is briefly considered along with the normal adolescent development of this area of the brain and a suggestion for future research is made. A therapeutic plan is organized using Ellis' REBT model, with specific attention to unconditional self-acceptance. The case emphasizes the psychological complexity of adolescents presenting ADHD.
