ToMRemed : une technique de remédiation cognitive centrée sur la théorie de l'esprit pour les patients schizophrènes

The cognitive disorders from which schizophrenic patients suffer contribute prominently to their difficulties in daily life, particularly from a social point of view. Techniques of cognitive remediation constitute tools allowing professionals to help the patients to reduce this deficit and its impacts. The practical method which we offer, ToMRemed, has some cognitive capacity of the Theory of Mind as target and more specifically, the capacity to allocate intentions to others. In this paper, we present the theoretical foundations of this practical method, as well as the support we used (video extracts and experiences reported by the patients) and the coherent procedure (group cognitive restructuring). Presenting clinical examples of our use of this tool, we demonstrate the interest that it creates in the patients as well as in the nursing teams.
