Évaluation et traitement de l'anxiété chez les personnes ayant une déficience intellectuelle

Anxiety disorders are more prevalent in persons with intellectual disorders (DD) than their peers in the general population. This article addresses the issue of anxiety disorders in persons with intellectual disabilities (ID), the challenges associated with evaluation and diagnosis of those disorders considering characteristics of ID, and the adjustments to be made in the cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) for the anxiety disorders among this population. A case illustration of modified therapeutical strategies is presented.
