Les groupes analytiques multifamiliaux pour adolescents

From the introduction of a first multi-family psychoanalytical group for young patients after their hospitalization, the authors illustrate how this original group therapy contributes to the elaboration of inter-subjective conflicts between the adolescents and their parents and to the psychical working over of intra-subjective conflicts by each group member. Multi-family psychoanalysis, barely known in France, consists in gathering several adolescents and their parents together with co-therapists. It can be fruitful when indicated for young patients who have so far been resistant to traditional therapies. For adolescents, it contributes to parental objects' decathexis, paradoxically in their very presence. The abundance of identificatory supports leads every member of a multi-family psychoanalytical group to reinforce the ability to associate, to relaunch conflictuality and redeploy libido onto objects of substitution.
