Le dispositif de soins pour jeunes suicidaires et suicidants à Genève

RésuméDepuis le début des années 1970, le suicide des adolescents se dégage comme un enjeu majeur de santé publique. En parallèle à cette émergence, le visage des patients suivis en psychiatrie évolue, et apparaissent de nouveaux patients, pour qui les institutions psychiatriques se réorganisent. À Genève, ville de réformes, l’équipe d’Antonio Andreoli développe le concept d’interaction-intervention de crise, lequel conduira à la création de différentes structures tant ambulatoires qu’hospitalières. François Ladame développe, quant à lui, l’intervention de crise auprès d’adolescents suicidants. Nous nous proposons dans cet article de reprendre leurs travaux et de présenter les différentes structures de soins créées au long des années, à Genève.

The problem of adolescent suicide is emerging in Europe in the early 1970s as a public health issue. Parallel to this, in the 1960s, as everywhere in the West, the Geneva psychiatry, with the impulse of Julián de Ajuriaguerra, reforms to accommodate new sufferings and new demands for care. Our aims are to present the network of care for suicidal patients, and its development over time in Geneva. For this, we resume the crisis intervention theory developed in Geneva, and then we present the relevance of this intervention with suicidal adolescents. We then present the different structures established in Geneva to support these adolescents. The team of Antonio Andreoli developed, in the 1980s, the crisis interaction-intervention model, and opened different structures. The team of François Ladame opens a crisis unit for adolescents. In subsequent years, the health care network expands, both in outpatient consultations and hospital units. The two most recently opened units (the unité d’évaluation and the unité d’accueil et d’orientation) welcome suicidal patients increasingly young engaging the care network to adapt and reorganize to accommodate at best.
