Water transport properties of artificial cell walls

► The water transport properties of artificial cell walls was investigated. ► The structure of artificial cell wall was shown by AFM and SEM. ► The water retention was higher for pure cellulose. ► Bacterial cellulose with pectin and xyloglucan has low water conductivity.
