⺠We investigated the sorption of polysaccharides by cellulose in presence of calcium. ⺠Ca2+ has substantial role to increase the sorption of polysaccharides to cellulose. ⺠In modified cellulose 5.8-12.5 mM Ca2+/kg and1500-2400 mg polysaccharide/kg fibers. ⺠FTIR-ATR spectra indicate the presence of polysaccharide on Ca2+ containing fibers.
