Fabrication and lithium intercalation properties of epitaxial Li2RuO3 thin films

► Epitaxial Li2RuO3 (002) films were successfully synthesized on Al2O3 (0001). ► Li2RuO3 (002) films exhibited a discharge capacity of 200 mAh g-1. ► 3-dimensional Li diffusion was confirmed in the 2-dimensional layered structure. ► Mechanistic studies using epitaxial films clarify the intercalation mechanism.
