Structural and optical properties of nanocrystalline CdS thin films prepared using microwave-assisted chemical bath deposition

► Nanocrystalline CdS thin films synthesized by microwave assisted chemical bath deposition. ► CdCl2 or CdAc2 used as Cd2+ ions source in addition to thiuorea as a S2-ions source. ► Ion molar concentrations had an effect on the structural and optical properties of CdS thin films. ► CdCl2 molar concentration had the more pronounced effect on the bandgap.
