Facile synthesis of Ag nanoparticles supported on TiO2 inverse opal with enhanced visible-light photocatalytic activity

►TiO2 inverse opal films loaded with silver nanoparticles were synthesized. ►Physical and chemical modifications of TiO2 were achieved simultaneously. ►The catalysts exhibited enhanced visible-light photocatalytic activity. ►The mechanism for enhanced photocatalytic performance was discussed.
