Selective accumulation and growth inhibition of hybrid liposomes to human hepatocellular carcinoma cells in relation to fluidity of plasma membranes

► Hybrid liposomes (HLs) consist of vesicular and micellar molecules. ► HLs inhibit the growth of cancer cells but not normal cells to trigger apoptosis. ► HLs selectively fuse and accumulate into the membranes of cancer cells. ► Cancer cell-membranes are more fluid than normal cell-membranes. ► HLs target cancer cell-membranes that have higher fluidity to trigger apoptosis.
