Charcot neuropathic arthropathy in children is rare condition which can be a part of natural course and complicate surgical treatment of neuroorthopaedic disorders, like spinal dysraphism and hereditary sensory neuropathy. We present series of 6 cases of neuropathic arthropathy in children from 4 to 18 years old (4 patients with spinal dysraphism and 2 patients with hereditary sensory neuropathy). In clinical picture history of minor trauma, limited swelling and progressive joint instability were predominant. Radiological investigation included standard plain radiographs, MRI and CT-scans for precise assessment of the extension of the pathological process. Nonsurgical management was a method of choice: bed rest, total-contact casts, orthotic wearing. Reeducation of children and family is crucial point in prevention and treatment of this condition. Surgery should be used as a salvage procedure and include thorough debridement, bone substitution, osteoinductive supplement and stable fixation.
