The petrogenesis of Sarıçimen (Çaldıran-Van) quartz monzodiorite: Implication for initiation of magmatism (Late Medial Miocene) in the east Anatolian collision zone, Turkey

►The Sarıçimen quartz monzodiorite plutons are clearly subduction-related. ►The pluton having a high-K, calc-alkaline nature. ►The pluton mantle-derived and contaminated from crustal material during ascent. ►This magmatism comprises the earliest documented neotectonic igneous activity. ►Igneous activity is related with the final closure of the neo-Tethys at ~ 14-13 Ma.
