Physiologically based pharmacokinetic model for rats and mice orally exposed to chromium

► A PBPK model was developed for oral Cr in rodents that includes the GI tract. ► Target tissue Cr data were collected in rodents exposed to Cr(VI) for 90 days. ► The model describes Cr toxicokinetics in GI lumen, GI and systemic tissues. ► Species differences and sources of saturable toxicokinetics are identified.
